South Western Railways (SWR) has withdrawn its earlier decision to convert one rake of Train 12741/12742 Vasco-Patna-Vasco Weekly express from a conventional rake to Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB). The train would run with the normal coaches.
It may be recalled that the conversion was set to take effect from November 15 for the train departing from Vasco and November 18 for the train departing from Patna Junction. “Now, the conversion of these trains into LHB rake has been withdrawn with immediate effect, Train Nos. 12741/12742 will continue to operate with the existing ICF rake,” SWR authorities said.
Accordingly the existing composition of AC Two tier (2), AC Three tier (2), Sleeper Class (11), General Second Class (4), Parcel Van (1), SLR (2) with a total of 22 coaches would continue. With the introduction of Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches the train would have 20 coaches.
“Since the number of coaches would reduce, we had to withdraw Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB),” explained SWR Chief PRO Aneesh Hegde.
Meanwhile, commuters have expressed disappointment as most of the travellers to North India were looking forward to a more comfortable journey with the LHB rake.
