MARGAO: The Colva police have filed a case under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, against unknown individuals. The case was registered following a written complaint from Hanuman Gawas, Honorary Field Officer of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services in Tonca, Caranzalem.
On the morning of August 7, Gawas reported that unknown persons had tied four untagged buffalo calves in a waterlogged field filled with rainwater in Colva, causing them harm. PSI Raksha Naik of the Colva Police Station is handling the investigation.
