Goa government has assigned an additional duty to Law Secretary Chokha Ram Garg (IAS) as the new Commissioner of the Goa State Election Commission.
The particular post had fallen vacant after retired IAS officer R K Srivastava recently resigned citing personal reasons.
The government has issued an order regarding accepting the resignation of Srivastava and the appointment of Garg as a new commissioner of the election commission.
The government has plans to conduct the elections of the 11 municipal bodies and the Zilla Panchayats in February.
