Classes for schools across the State have been cancelled on Saturday and instead Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will hold a virtual session with teachers, parents and management representatives of the institutions.
Education department officials said, the chief minister will interact virtually with managements, teachers and parents of all government and aided primary schools on Saturday.
The session will be held from 10 am to 12 noon and no classes will be held for students on that day, the official said.
Sawant is expected to speak on the National Education Policy (NEP) and will also take queries related to reservations in various quarters over its introduction.
Several recent interventions made in school education, including the recent changes in the mid-day meal scheme and the tweaking of the menu will also feature in the interaction.
Sawant, who also holds the education portfolio, had recently expressed concern over holding 'remedial classes' and had warned institutions that refusal to do so could cost them in the form of a cut in financial grants.
The issue of remedial classes could dominate the proceedings of Saturday's virtual interaction.
