The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch, probing the large scale land fraud in Goa, has arrested one of the masterminds Rajkumar Maithi for the third time in yet another property scam. He has been remanded to five days of police custody.
This is his second arrest this month. His first arrest on August 19 was termed as a big catch as he was caught with two other masterminds Royson Rodrigues and Sadric Fernadnes. The men have fraudulently sold several plots on forged papers.
The trio was bailed out after completing six days of custodial interrogation. Maithi was re-arrested on September 6 and remanded to three days of police custody, in a second land grab case followed by his third arrest and remand on Thursday.
