Amid the thunderous beats of Dhol Tasha and chants of Ganapati Bappa Morya, the idol of Dabolimcha Raja arrived in a grand procession on Thursday evening and took its place at the decorated pandal below the Dabolim flyover.

The arrival of Dabolimcha Raja drew a large gathering of devotees, with the procession turning the area into a festive spectacle as devotees accompanied the idol with traditional music and devotional chants.

The pandal, arranged below the Dabolim flyover, is being described by organisers as one of the biggest Sarvajanik Ganapati pandals in Goa and is expected to witness a large number of devotees during the festival.

Chicalim Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav said the venue had undergone a major change this year due to the ongoing Dabolim flyover works, which had resulted in the earlier shed used for housing the idol being removed.

However, Yadav said the change had ultimately resulted in a bigger and better space for Dabolimcha Raja and his devotees.

“Dabolim flyover works took away the earlier shed where we used to install Dabolimcha Raja, but Ganapati Bappa himself has given us a bigger and better place this year. We now have a much larger space to welcome devotees and celebrate the festival with greater enthusiasm,” said Yadav.

He urged people from across Goa to visit the pandal during the festival and seek the blessings of Dabolimcha Raja.

Yadav said the festival was not merely about the grandeur of the celebrations but about bringing people together in devotion and creating an atmosphere of faith, happiness and togetherness.

With the idol now installed at the new venue, preparations have been completed to welcome devotees throughout the festival. The grand arrival procession has set the tone for the celebrations, with Dabolim expected to remain vibrant with devotional activities and gatherings in the days ahead.
