Canoes will be deployed at Kharewaddo beach to assist in the immersion of Ganesh idols, while the beach will be cleaned and kept ready for the large number of devotees expected to visit the site.
Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar on Friday conducted a joint inspection of the Kharewaddo beach Ganesh Visarjan site along with various government departments to review arrangements ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Salkar and the officials inspected the beach area and discussed preparations for the smooth and safe immersion of Ganesh idols, with officials directed to ensure that devotees do not face inconvenience during the visarjan process.
Stating that canoes will be deployed at the beach to assist in the immersion of Ganesh idols, Salkar said the beach will be cleaned and kept ready for the large number of devotees expected to visit the site.
He said a waterproof pandal would also be erected at the location, with adequate seating arrangements for devotees attending the visarjan. The arrangements are aimed at providing shelter and basic facilities to people, particularly during periods of rain.
The MLA said the various departments had been asked to coordinate closely and complete all arrangements well before the festival so that the immersion process could be conducted in an orderly manner.
He said cleanliness and safety would remain important aspects of the arrangements, considering the large crowds expected at Kharwado beach during Ganesh visarjan.
Salkar also appealed to devotees to cooperate with the authorities and follow the arrangements put in place at the site to ensure a smooth and peaceful immersion.
The joint inspection was held to assess the requirements at the beach and ensure that necessary facilities are in place ahead of the festival.
