Stating that education should not be mere bookish knowledge, Goa Education Development Corporation Chairman Kanta Patnekar said inclusion of culture, ethics and history is a must in the books to create an ideal society.
He was speaking after the felicitation function organised by Omkar Creations Sakhali at Brahmashtroli meeting hall at Housing Board Colony, Sakhali.
Bhumika High School Poriem Principal Sadanand Hinde, retired teacher Damodar Naik, Housing Board Colony President Zilu Gaonkar and Omkar Creations President Nisha Pokle were present on the occasion.
Sangeeta Malik compered the function, while Sushma Sawant proposed the vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, Government Primary and Secondary School, Bicholim, recently celebrated Martyrs Day.
Retired teacher of Shri Shantadurga High School Bicholim Ganesh Joshi was the chief guest for the function, while industrial Anant Vernekar, PTA advisor Srikrishna Dhond and headmaster Madhukar Sasolkar were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Joshi said Goa’s liberation was possible only due to martyrs like Ram Manohar Lohia and others.
