CANACONA
One death was reported and 28 new cases were detected on Tuesday, taking the total number of deaths to 18 and active Covid cases to 297 in Canacona taluka.
Canacona Community Health Centre Health Officer Dr Jose Tavares also reassured that the health centre has made available sufficient testing kits and medicines.
The 28 new cases were detected from all over the taluka, including Sadolxem, Delem, Bhatpal, Chaudi, Bhagatwada, Kindlem, Agonda, Asali (Shristhal), Khola, Mahalwada (Poinguinim), Devabhag, Charrasta, Satorli (Gaondongrim), Loliem and Sheller.
Of the 297 active cases, 10 patients are admitted at the South Goa District Hospital while 287 are in home quarantine and have been provided with Covid kits with the required medicines.
A 91-year-old man from Canacona passed away, taking the number of deaths to 18 as on Tuesday.
So far, there have been 1,252 Covid cases reported in Canacona taluka, according to Dr Tavares.
