Twenty-one new cases were detected on Tuesday, taking the total active cases to 440 in Pernem taluka.
The new cases were detected in Agarwada (1), Morjim (5), Korgao (1), Keri (1), Arambol (1), Mandrem (3), Pernem town (1), Tuem (5), Paliem (2) and Parcem (1). While the Pernem Community Health Centre detected 352 cases, the Cansarvarnem Primary Health Centre recorded 88 cases.
Despite a rise in cases, many people are still found flouting safety protocols, even as the Pernem police have intensified action on those not wearing masks.
