Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that the supply of essential commodities from the neighbouring states which are under lockdown will not be affected and the goods will come uninterrupted.
The state is not stopping the transport of vehicles from entering Goa.
"I have spoken to the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka regarding the flow of essential commodities to Goa. The goods flow will not be interrupted," said CM Sawant.
CM also appealed to people to follow social distancing norms while shopping in the markets.
Meanwhile, there was a slight shortage of vegetables with a price rise in the market as the frequency of trucks transporting vegetables from Belgaum, and other areas of Karnataka and Maharashtra have been affected. However, things have now settled down as vegetable prices were stable in the market.
After neighbouring States -- Karnataka and Maharastra -- announced a lockdown and with the number of cases increasing in the state the people are also fearing a lockdown anytime now. With this fear in mind people, especially the migrants were seen in front of grocery stores to stock the groceries.
Some people tried to procure essential commodities like rice, dal in large quantities.
