The roads which were busy earlier on the coastal belts are seen empty during the nights as people are adhering to the night curfew norms imposed by the State government.
Only one or two vehicles are seen on the roads late AT night. People have decided to keep inside houses and avoid going out.
The police patrolling on the roads have no much work other than checking one or two vehicles which are seen on the roads.
"An odd vehicle is seen once in one hour on the road during the night. People have taken the night curfew seriously and we don't have to tell the public," said a policeman on duty.
Almost all the hotels, roadside stalls, fast food joints and other eateries are shut after 10 pm.
Citing the spike in Covid cases the Goa government had imposed
a 10-day-long night curfew in the State effective from April 21 to April 30 and imposed curbs on restaurants, cinema halls and casinos in the wake of rising Covid cases. Hospitals, pharmacies, petrol pumps are open during the night curfew.
