PERNEM:
One person was killed while another was injured in a road mishap at Agarwada-Pernem on Monday morning.
According to police reports, Ratnakar Naik (66) of Upasnagar-Sancaole was driving a goods carrier pickup from Mandrem to Agarwada when the vehicle knocked down an oncoming scooter near the Bhodkedhenu Devasthan junction.
The scooter was being driven by Ramakrishna Nikharge (29) of Ajgaon-Bhom in Sindhudurg-Maharashtra along with pillion rider, Ganpat Ramakant Kerkar (27) of Tiroda-Sindhudurg.
Both riders sustained injuries and Ramakrishna Nikharge died while being shifted to the Tuem Community Health Centre. Mandrem police is investigating the case.
