After a gap of one month, Camurlim panchayat finally got its new sarpanch when Laxman Naik was elected unopposed on Tuesday.
The post had been vacant after a no-confidence motion was passed against the former Sarpanch Pandurang Khorjuvekar.
At a special meeting in the panchayat office, Deputy Sarpanch Sanjana Mashelkar along with panch members Laxman Naik, Pandurang Khorjuvekar, Sangita Pednekar, Dharma Parab, Ranjana Naik Gaonkar and Chaya Gad were present for the meeting.
Laxman Naik was the only panch to file a nomination and he was declared elected unopposed.
