PANAJI: Ten members of the Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) have withdrawn their complaint against former General Secretary Vishvesh Naik and others.

The party on Sunday said that the decision was taken following a request by National President Viresh Borkar to resolve the dispute through the party's internal disciplinary and constitutional mechanisms, bringing the criminal proceedings to a close.

The development comes amid an ongoing leadership tussle within the party. Earlier this week, the RGP officially terminated the party membership of its sole MLA, Viresh Borkar.

According to the termination order issued by RGP General Secretary Vishvesh Naik, any communication or statement made by Borkar in the party's name would be treated as unauthorized and illegal. Party Treasurer Ajay Kholkar had also addressed the media on the decision.

However, Borkar rejected the action, maintaining that the termination order is entirely invalid.

Meanwhile, the RGP has constituted a three-member National Disciplinary Committee to handle internal disputes. Praveen Halarnkar has been appointed as Chairman, while Nitesh Bhandari and Kevin A. Correia have been named as committee members.
