PANAJI: Goa Police have busted two separate narcotics cases in Honda, Sattari and Navelim, seizing more than 9 kg of ganja worth around Rs 9 lakh and arresting three persons under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In the first operation, a team from Valpoi Police Station conducted a narcotics raid near the Pissurlem IDC bypass road at Honda, Sattari, and arrested Banshidhar Brahma Hans (28) and Bikaschandra Sachidanand Hans (25), both residents of Kalahandi district, Odisha.
Police recovered 5.091 kg of ganja, valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh, which the accused were allegedly carrying in backpacks.
A case has been registered under Crime No. 32/2026 under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B) and 29 of the NDPS Act. The investigation is being conducted by PSI Khushali Naik under the supervision of PI Vidyesh Pilgaonkar, SDPO Bicholim Shridevi B.V., and SP North Harish Madkaikar.
In a separate operation, Margao Police conducted a narcotics raid near the Dr. Francisco Luis Gomes District Library in Navelim and arrested one person for allegedly possessing 4 kg of ganja.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
