PERNEM: A 108 ambulance has been provided to the Keri Sub Health Centre (SHC) in Pernem taluka. Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar inaugurated the ambulance in the presence of Keri Sarpanch Darshana Naik, Paliem Sarpanch Radha Parab, medical staff, panch members and locals. Arolkar said the ambulance was an important requirement for Keri and surrounding areas. He said he had raised the issue in the recent Legislative Assembly session, following which Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane provided the ambulance. He said the service would greatly benefit residents of Keri and nearby areas. Arolkar also said facilities at the Government Hospital and Research Centre in Tuem would be expanded. Work on the operation theatre is underway, he said.
