ALDONA: ZP member Sandip Salgaonkar has called for united efforts to ensure the inclusive development of Aldona while preserving Goa’s art, culture, traditions and festivals. Salgaonkar was speaking at a Dahi Handi programme organised by the Sakhaleshwar Boys Association at Quitola, Aldona, to mark Shri Krishna Janmashtami. He said the celebration was an important step towards preserving and promoting Goa’s cultural traditions. He stressed that everyone had a responsibility to safeguard festivals and traditions, with the younger generation having a key role in carrying them forward. Salgaonkar said Aldona should witness the same pace of development as Porvorim, which he said had progressed significantly over the past decade. Carlos Ferreira, Suraj Borkar of Porvorim Rising and other dignitaries were present. Salgaonkar assured the organisers of his support and cooperation.
