With Canacona Mamlatdar Vimod Dalal among the 154 recipients to receive the Covishield vaccine at the Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC) on Friday, a total of 1,508 people have received the vaccination since the drive began in Canacona.
According to Canacona CHC Health Officer Dr Jose Tavares, those who took the vaccine on Friday consisted of senior citizens of 60 years and above (88), those with co-morbidities in the 45-59 age group (6), healthcare workers (7) and frontline workers (53).
Dr Tavares said 1,508 people have so far received the vaccination since the drive began in Canacona.
They include private health workers (22) and other healthcare workers (234) who got their first dose, 173 healthcare workers who got their second dose, 403 frontline workers who got their first dose and 156 frontline workers who got their second dose.
Dr Tavares appealed to the people of Canacona to take part in the mega Covid vaccination drive announced by the Directorate of Health Services at the Canacona CHC on March 15 and 16 from 9 am to 5 pm.
“Online and spot registration is also available and people with co-morbidities between 45 and 59 years and all people above 60 years should carry their any one of government issued/approved ID cards such as Aadhar Card, driving licence, PAN card, voting card, etc.” said Dr Tavares.
