There’s no letup in the number of Covid cases and deaths in Municipal areas of Margao and neighbouring Cuncolim.
While the total Covid cases in Margao has breached the 2000-figure mark with a single day spike of 159 cases, the Balli Primary Health Centre also witnessed a spike of 101 cases in the last 24 hours, with most cases reported from the Cuncolim Municipal area.
Sources said two persons from Cuncolim have succumbed to Covid on Friday, one of them resident of another area, as the number of cases have shown a rising trend in the last few days.
A glance at the health bulletin revealed that while the Covid cases at the Balli PHC were put at 381 on Thursday, the cases have now reached 482, a spike of 101 cases.
As far as Margao is concerned, the health bulletin has showed that the active Covid cases in the areas of Margao Urban Health Centre has crossed the 2000-figure mark. While the total cases were put at 1974 on Thursday, the cases touched the 2133 figure on Friday, a spike of 159 cases. Primary Health Centres across Salcete has also been witnessing spread of the virus in the last few days.
