Around 1,540 aspirants for 36 positions of Trained English Teachers (TET) in government schools, and another 787 aspirants for three positions of Network Engineers, will undergo the examination set by the Goa Staff Recruitment Commission on June 30.
The CBT exam for the TET positions will be scored out of 50 marks, with a duration of one hour at two examination centres in Mapusa while the 60 marks exam with a duration of 75 minutes for the Network Engineer position will be conducted in Margao.
The Commission advertised the Network Engineer posts on December 29, 2023, and the 36 TET posts on January 15, 2024.
Of these 36 posts, 14 are reserved for candidates from scheduled tribe communities. Nine posts are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwDs), and seven for ex-servicemen.
According to the advertisement, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent, with English as the first language at the Secondary and Higher Secondary levels, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) with English teaching methodology.
Knowledge of Marathi is desirable for the post.
The Commission had also clarified that in case of non-availability of a candidate meeting the essential requirements, other candidates possessing a B.Ed can be appointed, provided that such candidates complete the course designed by the government within five years from the date of appointment.
