VALPOI
The collapse of internet services in the Sattari taluka has created issues for citizens above 18 years of age to register online for Covid vaccination.
Taking advantage of this, it has been learnt that people from areas outside Sattari are registering in large numbers for the quota allotted to the taluka. As a result, the people of this area have expressed their discontent.
Online registration for citizens of the 18-44 age group is mandatory at the government level.
As a result, citizens have been trying to register for the vaccine in the last eight days. The Goa government has provided different types of stocks for different talukas.
Internet service has been completely disrupted in Sattari taluka for the last four days. Much of the impact is being felt by citizens over the age of 18 years.
The citizens said that due to the collapse of internet services in Sattari taluka, the people of other talukas are taking advantage of the available quota in this area.
As a result, the citizens of this area are being deprived of these vaccination facilities and they have expressed displeasure.
Reacting to this, a 20-year-youth Mahendra Gavkar said that the internet services have been completely disrupted for the last four days. Due to this, we have tried several times and failed to register for the vaccination programme.
He clarified that after a long time, the message came that the registration at Valpoi Kendra was completed. He further said that such a situation has befallen many citizens.
After the inquiry, it was learnt that the citizens of other talukas have taken advantage of the vaccination facility in Sattari taluka and especially in Valpoi centres.
Gavkar has clarified that the blow was only due to the complete collapse of internet service. Citizens in the area have demanded that the health department pay serious attention to the issue or the citizens of the area are feared to be deprived of this facility.
