Two tourists, who assaulted a rental cab driver and robbed his car, have been arrested from their native village in Solapur, Maharashtra.
A complaint filed by taxi driver Antonio Rodrigues alleged that on January 6, 2023, near Vrindavan Hotel Panaji, two unknown accused persons assaulted him and robbed his white colour Swift Dzire from his possession.
North Goa SP Nidhin Valsan informed the media that during the investigation, CCTV footage was obtained wherein the incident of crime was captured.
“We received reliable inputs that a similar car without a number plate was found moving around the Solapur area,” he revealed.
A team headed by PSI Praful Giri was immediately sent to Solapur where the two accused were traced and arrested.
