The Pilerne Parish will have a double celebration on Republic Day, with villagers gearing to celebrate Family Day and the Inclusive Zero Waste Pilerne Thursday Heritage Market at the St John de Baptist Church courtyard.
Local vendors will sell all sorts of sweets, home-cooked Goan food, fruits and plants from the gardens of Pilerne, unique art, beautiful candles and much more.
The church courtyard will wear a festive look with flags and decoration around the church. Local musicians will be joined by the villagers. A cultural musical evening by the Church Associations, Somudai Members and some individual performances will entertain the crowds on that day.
It will be also a day of appreciation of individuals at all age levels who have rendered some services to the Parish over the years.
Parish Priest Fr Derrick Fernandes has congratulated the villagers for leading the way in zero waste management and welcomed everyone including the differently-abled community to the market.
The market organised by PASCA will be open throughout the summer of 2023 every Thursday from 5 pm to 9 pm at the St John de Baptist Church courtyard.
