The Maina Curtorim Police has registered a case against two persons for assault and also under the provisions of the Goa Children's Act over the incident that occurred at Chandor on Monday.
A video had gone viral on Monday showing a person on a car top damaging the car with a laterite stone.
Maina Curtorim Police informed that a case under Section 341, 504, 324, 506(ii), 427 R/w 34 IPC and Section 8 of the Goa Children Act has been registered against Dattaraj Raut Desai and Rohan Kalekar following a complaint lodged by Reva Velip w/o Rohit Velip, 47, stating that the accused with their common intention restrained the complainant's husband and his family members from proceeding to Netravali with his car by removing the ignition key of the Baleno car.
She further stated in her complaint that the accused Dattaraj abused the complainant's husband in filthy language and assaulted him with fist blows on his mouth thereby dislocating his teeth and allegedly assaulted her two minor sons aged 17 years and 12 years and also her niece aged 18 years with slaps.
She further alleged that both the accused persons threw laterite stones at the complainant's car thereby causing damage and loss to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh.
Police said accused Dattaraj has been placed under arrest.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case of assault against Rohit Velip and two others following a complaint lodged by Dattaraj Raut Desai stating he was assaulted by the accused persons at Chandor-Guirdolim on Monday.
