22-year-old drowns off Sinquerim

A photo on the rocks at Fort Aguada costs a 22-year-old youth from Orissa his life on Wednesday evening.

Calangute Police informed that the deceased Chandan Guchayat drowned in the sea in Sinquerim and his body was found on Candolim beach on Thursday noon. Sources informed that the deceased along with his brother and two friends employed at a local restaurant ventured onto the rocky area at Fort Aguada.  
“The deceased and his companions went down onto the rocks to click pictures. While clicking pictures, the deceased was hit by a wave, due to which he lost his balance and fell into the sea,” said a handout released by the Drishti Lifesaving Pvt Ltd.  
According to Drishti, Lifeguard captain Sunil Matondkar and IRB Police rushed to the spot to conduct search operations, but were unable to trace the body. On Thursday, the body of the deceased was spotted at Candolim beach.
 which was brought to the notice of the police. PSI Prajeet Mandrekar is investigating the case.
