Goan feni brand features in BBC Good Food mag

In what can be described as a major boost to Goa’s heritage and culture, a home-bred cashew feni brand called ‘Cazulo’ was rated as one of the top 10 national spirits by BBC Good Food. This is a huge achievement for ‘Cazulo’ brand because BBC Good Food is a world-famous magazine with readership in several countries.

Hansel Vaz, founder of Cazulo, said, “This is a humongous achievement for us. I have never corresponded with BBC and therefore I had no clue about this at all. My friends from London called to congratulate me and I was pleasantly surprised.”
Vaz continued, “We take huge pride in this achievement because BBC is known for conducting rigorous research.”
Talking about cashew feni on its website, BBC Good Food noted, “Feni is quite tart on the palate and despite having a slightly thin, spirity undertone, has a powerful, crisp, almost freshly cut green apple note, alongside a distinct nuttiness, which will take some getting used to if you’re trying the spirit for the first time.”
Apart from cashew feni, there were nine other spirits in the list of best national spirits in the world, each representing a different country.
