23 lives lost in road accidents in January

PANAJI

Goa recorded 23 deaths from 22 fatal road accidents in January 2025. Of these, 12 were in North Goa and 10 in South Goa.

According to the Transport Department, the victims included 11 riders, four pillion riders, one driver, four pedestrians, and two passengers, while one other person also lost their life.

Besides the fatal accidents, there were 28 serious accidents”14 in each district”causing severe injuries to 30 people.

The State also reported 44 minor accidents (15 in North Goa and 29 in South Goa), resulting in 68 minor injuries. 

Additionally, 117 accidents with no injuries were recorded, including 100 in North Goa and 111 in South Goa.
