The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) on Friday recommended the promotions of around 24 officers across different departments, following a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) chaired by Jose Manuel Noronha.
Among the promoted officers is the Superintending Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD), who is elevated to the post of Chief Engineer; besides two Executive Engineers to the position of Superintending Engineers.
In the Goa Civil Cadre, the Commission has recommended the promotion of nine officials to the senior administrative grade from the junior administrative grade.
Noronha said that these officers can now be appointed to senior posts in the cadre service under Goa Civil Service Rules 2016.
A senior official’s promotion to the post of Deputy Director in the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, two officials attached to the Water Resources Department elevated to the post of Additional Chief Engineer, six officials’ promotion to Executive Engineer (Civil), another promotion to the post of Joint Director in the Directorate of Planning and Statistics, and another to the position of a statistical officer are also added to the recommendation list submitted to the government.
The GPSC Chairman further informed that two officials were promoted to the post of Police Sub-Inspector (Armourer) in Goa Police and that the Commission also lifted the probation of officers in the Civil Aviation and Commercial Tax Department.
