Calangute Police have arrested 24-year-old Saikiran Reddy from Telangana. They recovered four mobile phones, a chain, Rs 10,000 in cash, and a piece of silver jewellery from him. Reddy is wanted for 31 crimes in Hyderabad, with convictions in 11 of those cases.
On 31st July 2024, tourist Satyasheel Sharma from Madhya Pradesh reported that Rs 65,000 and a mobile phone were stolen from his hotel room in Calangute. The hotel’s CCTV captured the thief’s face.
Police traced the suspect’s movement to Kerala and arrested him from a railway station. During questioning, Reddy admitted to stealing the mobile phone and cash in Calangute, and the other items were taken from Hyderabad. The Calangute police have informed the Hyderabad police about the case. Reddy was on his way to Hyderabad via Kerala after committing the theft in Calangute.
