One person was arrested for possession of Charas on Monday in Assagao, Anjuna Police informed.
The accused has been identified as Niyaz Abdul Khader (28), a resident of Bhovtavaddo, Assagao.
Acting on specific information, Anjuna Police laid a trap and intercepted the accused when he came to deliver the consignment to a prospective customer at Ganpati temple in Assagao. He was found in possession of 11.09 grams of narcotic drug Charas worth Rs 25,000.
The accused has been placed under arrest under sections 22(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act and is presently in police lock up.
PSI Dhiraj Devidas is investigating further along with Anjuna PI Prashal Dessai and overall supervision of Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi.
