2nd round online college admissions begin today

The second round of online admission in government and aided colleges under the administrative control of Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) for the courses such as BA, BCOM, BSC, BCA, BBA, Music, Home Science, Agriculture, BSC BEd, BA BEd and others will start from August 28.

The students who are applying for the first time on online portal should apply through common portal available on https://www.dhe.goa.gov.in/ from August 28, 12 pm onwards.

The portal will provide detailed guidelines for the students about the online application process. Through this portal, students can apply to a maximum of two colleges of their choices across Goa with the priority option.

Students can reach out to respective colleges of their interest over the telephone or through online portal for further information.

The students who have already applied in the first round of admission and are not admitted in any college yet, need not apply again.

The student can change the college choice or subject combination in the application form by logging on to the online portal using their credentials received on email ID during the first round of the online admission process.

It may be recalled that chaos, confusion and frustration marked the round one of online college admission for courses that was earlier held.

With severe connectivity issues, students struggled to login into the DHE website.

The government had commenced the online admission process to facilitate the ease and convenience of students given the Covid pandemic.

The State government had brought the admission process under a centralised online gateway where admission to various degree courses could be sought without visiting the college campuses.

However, students struggled to come to terms with the new admission formalities. Apart from login issues, there were complaints of laborious and multiple layers of data inputs that were mandatory.
