PORVORIM
Insisting that the State government does not wish to impose development projects against the wishes of the people, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, however, claimed that the three linear projects being set up have nothing to do with coal and are important for the State.

“These three linear projects -- railway double-tracking, Tamnar power project and widening of Highway at Mollem -- have nothing to do with coal transportation.”

“Similarly, the NH17 project at Porvorim is also equally important to ensure smooth traffic flow. People must not create obstacles and should, instead, allow these projects in the interest of Goa,” said Sawant.

The chief minister said the State government has cleared the bills of contractors till June 2020 on the RXL platform.

“Hence, there should not be any problem for ongoing projects in the State. Further, the government has also released funds to all panchayats in the State under the 15th Finance commission,” said Sawant.
