Three minor boys who were reportedly under the influence of alcohol assaulted an NIT student in the Goa Engineering College campus at Farmagudi.
The NIT student Shivansh Pande (19) sustained injuries in the assault and is being treated at the sub-district hospital.
The police have taken two boys into custody while the third is absconding. One of the boys who were arrested and taken to the police station, managed to run away from the police station, but one police constable chased and caught the boy, and brought him back to the police station.
According to police, the three minors were drinking when Pande reached there. They had a quarrel and the trio began assaulting the victim.
Ponda PI Tushar Lotlikar and his team are investigating the matter.
