Canacona police booked three persons, including a minor, for assaulting a Partagal resident and damaging his motorbike on Sunday morning.
According to Canacona Police, one Amey Puranik complained that three persons, including a minor son of one of the accused, after engaging him in an argument over a newspaper report assaulted and abused him and also damaged his motorbike.
Accordingly, police booked one George and Gaja Naik, his minor son, both residents of Partagal and another male unknown person (described as having a beard) under section 341, 324,504,427, 506(ii) read with 34 IPC.
According to the complaint, Puranik said that he was restrained by 3 persons at about 11 am on Sunday near his residence at Partagal while he was proceeding on his motorbike. The three accused began to confront Puranik over a news article on sand extraction and verbally abused him before threatening him with dire consequences.
The minor son of one of the accused then assaulted the complainant with a wooden stick and thereafter they began to pelt him with stones and further damaged his motorcycle while the complainant tried to flee towards his house. Head constable S B Velip is investigating further under the supervision of Canacona PI Sudesh Narvekar.
