Three projects including one which aims to tackle Panaji’s nightmarish vehicle parking conundrum planned by the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited, were put to public scrutiny at a citizen consultation exercise on Wednesday evening.
IPSCDL is the state-owned special purpose vehicle tasked with overseeing the smart city project.
On Wednesday, the first of the three projects was put through the consultation process - beautification and pedestrianization of the Cafe Bhonsale square.
It was sparsely attended by Panaji’s standards, perhaps because it was held on a working day and at short notice.
Most of the issues raised by those in attendance at the consultation held at the Adil Shah’s palace, Old Secretariat, revolved around the traffic congestion and lack of parking areas there.
Two other projects will be scrutinised through such consultations on Thursday and Friday, namely the beautification and re-development of the Dona Paula View Point including the pedestranisation of the approach roads and another which will visit a ‘parking policy’ for Panaji.
All the citizen consultation engagements are being held at the IPSCDL office located at the Adil Shah Palace, Old Secretariat.
