Calangute police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Harsh Tanwar, a 25-year-old tourist from Delhi, at Baga Beach.
The suspects are Sahil alias Vishal Kumar Bhatnagar from Uttarakhand, Noor Muhammad Khan from Parra, and Sunil Vishwakarma from Nepal.
Tanwar’s body was discovered floating at Baga Beach by lifeguards on Saturday morning. The police found injuries on his body, which was later sent for an autopsy at GMC hospital in Bambolim. The autopsy revealed that Tanwar died from multiple stab wounds.
The police suspect the murder occurred on Saturday afternoon and believe it was committed with the intent to rob Tanwar. He had been in Goa since Thursday and was staying in Calangute.
Late on Friday night, he was attacked by the suspects at Baga Beach. They fled, leaving Tanwar badly injured, and his body eventually drifted into the sea.
Police have registered a case of murder and attempt to destroy evidence against the accused under sections of the BNS.
