300 cops arrive in Bicholim
BICHOLIM: In the wake of assembly polls, the Election Commission has sent a team of armed police personnel from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to maintain law and order in Bicholim.
Speaking to reporters, PI Narayan said, “In all, 300 police personnel have arrived. Two hundred are from two different units in Karnataka, while 100 are from a unit in Tamil Nadu.”
Truck damages Ordhfond bridgeCANACONA: An inter-state goods lorry hit the railings and partly damaged the Portuguese-era Ordhfond bridge on river Talpona early Monday morning. The loaded truck (RJ-19-GC-5534) was proceeding from Karwar towards Margao when it hit the railings of the bridge. About 18 poles of the railings were damaged and the truck was precariously balanced.
