Konkan Railway has stepped up action to curb rising cases of Alarm Chain Pulling (ACP) on Train No. 12742 Patna“Vasco Express. An ambush check was carried out by the Railway Protection Force between Margao and Tivim on December 1. During the operation, an ACP occurred near the outer signal of Karmali station, and several passengers unauthorisedly got off the train.
A team of 15 RPF officers detained 31 people, including the main offender who pulled the chain. They were taken to the Margao RPF Post and later produced before the JMFC, Margao, under Sections 141, 145 and 147 of the Railway Act.
The court fined the main accused Rs 1,100 and the others Rs 600 each, with simple imprisonment of three days in default.
Konkan Railway said the action sends a strong message against ACP and warned that such checks will continue to ensure safety and punctual services for bona fide passengers.
