32-year-old CISF constable ends life at Sada

A 32-year-old CISF constable hailing from Ganjam, Orissa, ended his life on Saturday.

Sources in the Mormugao Police said the deceased, Mangulu Behera, was a CISF constable and served as a mess helper. “We received a phone call from CISF staff informing us that the deceased had committed suicide in the CISF Barrack of MPA Colony Headland Sada. He was last seen on Friday at about 9.30 pm at the CISF Mess,” said a source.

Mormugao police registered a case of unnatural death under Section 174 CrPC and visited the spot to conduct an enquiry with the CISF.

“The body is sent for preservation at South Goa District Hospital in Margao, and arrangements are made to conduct a post-mortem examination upon the arrival of family members of the deceased,” said the source.

PSI Stanley Gomes of Mormugao Police station is conducting further investigation into the incident.
