The event was conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (ANC) Sunita Sawant and DySP ANC Nerlon Albuquerque, with the aim of creating awareness among school students about the dangers of drug abuse and addiction.
The competition witnessed an enthusiastic response from students across Goa, with 399 participants taking part. Of these, 237 students competed in the Class 5 to 7 category, while 162 students participated in the Class 8 to 10 category.
Through paintings and drawings, students creatively conveyed messages promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and highlighted the importance of making informed choices. The artworks reflected a strong understanding of the harmful effects of substance abuse and the need for a drug-free society.
Parents and teachers appreciated the initiative and commended Goa Police for organising the event and engaging young minds in spreading awareness against drug abuse.
The programme forms part of Goa Police's ongoing efforts to promote awareness among youth and strengthen the vision of a Drug-Free Goa and a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
