In a tragic incident, a 3-year-old boy died after suffering an electric shock at Mangor Hill on Friday afternoon after allegedly coming into contact with a live wire attached to a metal shed near his house.
The deceased has been identified as Ankush Yadav (3), son of Shivkumar Yadav, residents of Mangor Hill.
According to information gathered by Vasco police, the child was playing beneath a shed at his residence when he accidentally touched a live electric wire that had become entangled with the metal structure. He received a severe electric shock and collapsed unconscious on the spot. Family members immediately rushed the child to Sub-District Hospital, Chicalim, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Following information received from the hospital at 3.41 pm, Vasco police visited the hospital and recorded the statement of the father. An inquest panchanama was conducted, and the body was later preserved at the South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for further formalities.
Vasco police have registered a case of unnatural death and are conducting further investigations into the incident. PSI Nikhil Dessai is handling the inquiry under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
