PANAJI
The Goa Crime Branch arrested four cybercriminals of Delhi origin in connection with a case investigated by its counterparts in Hyderabad.
Goa police were approached by the Hyderabad police to crack the case involving Kafil Ahmed, Mohd Jamal, Mohammed Asif, and Chirag Sohanlal.
“The four accused are involved in a case of online fraud, stealing of data, cheating and running bogus call centers in Hyderabad. They sold customer details to unauthorized persons, which could be a threat to the concerned individual and the country at large,” CB SP Nidhin Valsan told reporters in Panaji on Wednesday.
The cybercriminals were hiding in a hotel at Anjuna from where they were detained and handed over to the Hyderabad police. The accused were taken back to Hyderabad on transit remand on the same day.
