4 firms keen on setting up units at Tuem ESDM Park
IT and Revenue Minister, Rohan Khaunte, has informed that four companies have already shown interest in setting up units at the upcoming Tuem ESDM (electronics, system, design and manufacturing) park.

Khaunte was replying to a question tabled in the ongoing monsoon session of the assembly. His reply noted, "Companies like M/s Smartlink Network Systems, M/s GIT Electronics, M/s Optel Vision India, M/s Aequs have shown their interest for setting up of their units as well as joining the SPV in the EMC Cluster." Tuem ESDM project has been taken under a scheme of the central government to promote greenfield projects. Khaunte further informed that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under the central government would be providing a grant-in-aid for the Tuem ESDM Park amounting to Rs 73.8 crore as against approved cost of Rs 161.3 crore. Meanwhile, it is also reported that 5,000 square meters of land has been handed over to PWD for construction of water treatment plant with a capacity of 10 million litres per day at Tuem for the project. Besides, Khaunte also informed that PWD is preparing land acquisition plans for road from NH17 connecting to Tuem ESDM Park.
Torrential rains across the state led to the collapse of the wall of an old house at Borda, while incidents of uprooted trees have also been reported in Salcete.
