Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said a record 5 lakh people received Covid-19 jabs in the State and thanked the healthcare workers and officials of the health department for the success.
With the administration of 5 lakh doses, almost one-third of the population has been vaccinated in the State.
He also took the opportunity of thanking the people of the State for taking part in Tika Utsav in large numbers.
The CM took to twitter to announce the achievement on the progress of the ongoing vaccination programme in the State.
“I thank the healthcare workers and officials of the health department for succeeding in administering 5,00,000 doses of #Covid19 vaccines in the State of Goa. I also thank the people of Goa for making #TikaUtsav successful and getting vaccinated in large numbers,” Sawant said on his official Twitter handle.
He also appealed to the people of above 45 years age group to come out and take the Covid jab so that Goa can achieve 100 percent vaccination in the particular age group.
“I once again appeal to the people of Goa, especially the 45+ age group to take your dose for achieving 100 per cent vaccination,” he followed up in another twitt.
The chief minister recently said the government was working towards achieving 100 percent vaccination in the age group of 45 and above and has arranged “Tika Utsavs” in panchayat and municipality areas.
