Teachers of other schools will keep a vigil on the process of validating the performance of students based on the internal assessment before promoting them to class XI.
After cancelling the SSC exams, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBS&HSE) had decided to validate the performance of the SSC students using this method.
The exam committee as well as the education board has sanctioned this innovative mode of working, to maintain transparency in the preparation of the results. The GBS&HSE will announce their final decision on this soon.
When the State government had decided to cancel the SSC examination, it was decided that the results would be prepared based on the internal assessment of the student’s performance. Accordingly, there were meetings for two days to take the final decision in the matter.
The exam committee had permitted the education board’s marks validation proposal. The committee also recommended that the results of one school will be overseen by the teachers of another school. The committee feels that the teachers from other schools will be more neutral in their approach in this process.
A suggestion was also made for an arrangement so that a different teacher from the same institution can also do this job. The final decision on this has not been taken yet.
After the SSC exam was cancelled, a 12-member committee was established under the leadership of Bhagirath Shetye, chairman of GBS&HSE, which would decide on the marks validation system and check the results prepared on the basis of internal assessment.
This committee has suggested a method of preparing the result sheet for the SSC students. The method of preparing the results by the schools will be explained in a webinar inviting the headmasters/headmistresses of the schools.
