A 55-year-old man from Karnataka was found dead in the Tillari canal at Vadaval in Sal-Bicholim.

Bicholim police said the deceased, identified as Gopal Tamanna Gowda Birada from Bijapur, Karnataka, had been reported missing for the last two days and a missing complaint had been filed by relatives at the Dodamarg police outpost.

A police team and a fire brigade went to the site and retrieved the body, which was later sent to the GMC hospital for an autopsy.

Bicholim police are investigating the incident.
