Mopa Airport Police Station has taken action against illegal sand mining with the arrest of six individuals under various sections of the law.
The accused all hailing from various locations in Baliya, UP, allegedly engaged in sand theft from the river bank of Chapora.
During the operation, approximately two meters of extracted sand valued at Rs 3,000/- and a canoe worth Rs 2.5 lakhs were seized along with the six accused persons.
The owner of the canoe, Sanjay Parab, has also been implicated in the case.
