CANACONA
Six junior engineers and an upper-division clerk have been appointed as administrators to the seven village panchayats in Canacona as the tenure of elected Panchayat members ended on Saturday.
While the two panchayats of Poinguinim and Khotigao had no sitting sarpanchas, the terms of sarpanchas in Khola (Poorna Nayak), Agonda (Badal Naikgaunkar), Shristhal (Ramu Naik), Gaondongrim (Anjali Velip) and Loliem-Polem (Sachin Naik) also ended on Saturday.
The new administrators appointed to head these panchayats in Canacona taluka are Nagraj Adpaikar, JE with PWD-NH in Canacona (Loliem-Polem), Kishore Parwar, JE with WRD in Canacona (Khotigao), Pradeep Pagui, JE of PWD water supply at Canacona (Gaondongrim), Sarvesh Fadate, JE of PWD water supply (Poinguinim), Ganesh Velip, JE of WRD at Canacona (Khola), Biva A Velip, JE at BDO in Canacona (Agonda) and Pradeep S Naik, UDC at BDO Canacona (Shristhal).
According to the government order, these officials appointed as administrators will attend to the respective panchayats on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, besides during other exigent situations, until the posts of Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch are filled up in the respective panchayats.
