A 68-year-old man from Upasnagar, Zuarinagar, who was seriously injured in a self-accident at Velsao earlier this month, died while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
Police said the accident occurred on July 12, after which the deceased, identified as Jose Rodrigues, was initially admitted to South Goa District Hospital, Margao, before being shifted to GMC for further treatment.
Rodrigues succumbed to his injuries on July 29. Verna Police have registered an unnatural death case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). His body has been preserved at GMC for medico-legal formalities.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Prisly Carvalho under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
